RODS AND THE AXE
Rods and the Axe is a raw, seven-part video series in which Henry Paniccia confronts his former neo-Nazi beliefs by having direct, unfiltered conversations with his 19-year-old self.
ABOUT RODS AND THE AXE
Rods and the Axe is not a redemption story. It is an honest examination of how someone becomes radicalized, what that ideology actually looks like from the inside, and what it takes to walk away from it.
Through a unique format — speaking directly to his younger self — Henry explores the beliefs, justifications, and emotional patterns that kept him in white supremacy for seven years.
WHY THIS PROJECT MATTERS
Most content about extremism is either academic or heavily sensationalized. Rods and the Axe takes a different approach by focusing on internal honesty rather than performance. It shows the uncomfortable, messy, and often contradictory thoughts that exist during and after radicalization.
UNIQUENESS
Rods and the Axe is the first project of its kind — a former extremist confronting his past self on camera in a structured, multi-part series. No one has done this format before with this level of directness and accountability.
